When I first started this site a few years ago I never planned it to be any more than a dumping ground for photos. I never thought anyone other than a few friends and family, would ever come across this blog and take any interest.
That all changed when I visited Chernobyl and posted video both here on my site and on Youtube. Since then I’ve gotten a steady stream of questions ranging from “Are you nuts?” all the way to “How do I get to Chernobyl?” from random people off in internet land.
Thus in the spirit of being a good internet citizen, I’ve written a Chernobyl FAQ.
If there’s anything I failed to answer feel free to contact me.

RE:How close to the reactor can i get?
In the video you can see i got to within about 200m of the reactor.
There is an office you can see in the right of the image which you can
go into for a closer look. There you are about 100m from the reactor.
Unfortunately you are not allowed to take pictures or shoot video from
there.
but why you are not allowed to take pictures or shoot video from
there? (I just want to know, plz) and what happens when we stay too long in Chernobyl / if a human being is exposed in a place where radioactivity is upper than normal?

“Why” is not really a question you ask of former soviet beaurocracy. They have their rule,s some make sence, most dont. Eastern Europe is an interesting place to visit for this reason alone.
As for the effects of radiation, this table on wikipedia is a decent guide.
A day at chernobyl barley registers on this table.

Thanks Elena,
I was in Argentina during the 2002 financial meltdown. Is there another financial meltdown coming? I’ve read all sorts things coming out of Argentina. What are the major problems that are going to make it burn this time?
BTW. Which French Cousin? Not sure who you might be referring to.
